Homework 11/9/15

Hello! The homework tonight is just reading (on raz kids or a library book so they can take an AR test in class). No spelling homework tonight! With the short week, we won't have a spelling test on these words until NEXT Friday. Students are encouraged to hop onto prodigy (https://prodigygame.com/Play/) to build their math skills at home! :)

Homework 11/5/15

Happy Thursday! Today's homework is reading and spelling. There is a spelling test tomorrow! Students are also welcome to try the Prodigy game that I posted about last night. (directions to log in are in previous post). Students that finished their ELA test today in the computer lab were able to create a username or password. If your child isn't able to log in, text me on the Remind App and I can give you that information. If your child didn't get a chance to login to the prodigy website today, there are directions on how to do so in my previous post. I have heard really good things about this website, so I am excited to get feedback from you and your child! Please keep in mind that it does start VERY easy and then works through third grade common core standards. As they master certain concepts, they will move onto more complex concepts that meet third grade common core math standards. If you have any questions on this, please feel free to ask! :)

New Math Game!

I have heard a buzz going around about this math game and wanted to see if it would help get your child get excited about math! This is not a requirement, but I have heard students from other classes obsess over this game, so give it a try! :) **PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS GAME STARTS VERY EASY, AND THEN PROGRESSES AS THE STUDENTS MASTER EACH PORTION. This is good because it can fill in the gaps of missing knowledge that students need in third grade. Here are the directions to log in below:

I can't believe it is already November! The homework tonight is for students to read 20 minutes and work on their math flashcards. We worked on sorting their new word sorts in class, but have them write down their words at home to study this week. There are pictures located of group 1 and group 2's words below. ALSO- If your child did not finish their Bison vs. Buffalo Article and text dependent questions, then I sent them home with that to complete and turn in tomorrow. Please let me know if you have any questions!
