10/6/15- Help Regarding the Spelling!
The homework for tonight is keyboarding practice, spelling homework and math flashcards. I will be limiting any math homework sent home with your child, but I do ask that you help them practice their math fluency by asking them their multiplication facts. About 5 minutes a day will help immensely in their math classwork! The spelling homework tonight is just for your child to cut out and sort their words just like we did in class. I gave your child two sheets of paper with their word sort on it; one stays at school and one goes home. Therefore, the one they come home with tonight can stay at home. After we take the test on Friday, those words can be thrown away and they will get a new set of words next week. To help you sort them with your child, I have attached a picture of what the sorted words should look like. There are two sorts here, so look at the picture of the words that matches the sort your child has. (I have two different spelling sorts going at a time in my class to differentiate for varying student spelling needs). In regards to the VCC, VCV, etc. The "v' stands for vowels and the "c" stands for consonants. Therefore, a VCC word would have a vowel followed by two consonants. Hope this helps! :) Finally, the keyboarding practice link is under the "academic resources" area in the upper right hand corner of my webpage, but I am not picky, they can do any keyboarding practice game they want. The important thing is that they are practicing their keyboarding/typing.
